Roberto Pinna: ‘I believe that cuisine is the soul of a hotel’
Born and raised in Sardinia, Italy’s second largest island in the Mediterranean, Roberto Pinna found his passion for food at the age of 14. While his peers were absorbed in video games, young Roberto spent time in the kitchen of his uncle’s restaurant, where his dream of becoming a chef was nurtured.
His culinary journey has spanned the globe, from restaurants in Kuwait (West Asia), Dublin (Ireland), Verbier (Switzerland), Sardinia (Italy) to his role as Italian chef at fine dining in the luxury resort Rosewood Jumby Bay (Antigua, Caribbean, Americas).
With over 20 years of experience at globally renowned restaurants and hotels, Mr. Pinna is not only a talented chef but also a creator, storyteller and creator of experiences the most complete cuisine.
Before joining Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa, he was the Food and Beverage Manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru (Malaysia, Australia), where he led the team to exceed revenue targets and achieve the highest customer satisfaction scores.
He has also held senior positions at Aquarium Sardinia, Shangri-La Malaysia, Hilton Bangkok and Rosewood Jumby Bay. In 2017, he was named one of the ‘Top 10 Chefs in Southeast Asia’ by San Pellegrino Acqua Panna. Fluent in Italian, English and Spanish, Mr. Pinna brings to Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa not only extensive international experience but also a humble, creative and passionate leadership style.
