artLIVE – Hien Concept is a place specializing in organizing handmade pottery workshops and pottery classes in Ho Chi Minh City, with the desire to inspire and bring traditional pottery art closer to young people.

In our busy lives, we often forget ourselves. Pressure and stress can make our souls lonely. So, with that in mind, many workshops and creative activities have been born, from candle making, pottery making, painting, and many other activities.

These activities not only help people create interesting products but also create opportunities for us to care more about our own mental health. Because a relaxed and happy spirit is the key to creating a happier life.

Hien Concept – A place of healing for everyone

Hien can be defined in many different ways. In Vietnam, Hien is not only a part of the house, but also a part of our soul and memories. It is the place where family meals are held, where the family gathers, eats together, and shares life stories.

Hien is also a “gathering place” for the confidences of parents and the elderly. It can also be a place where lovers meet under the sudden rain of summer, like in the movies we often watch. However, from another perspective, Hien is simply a place to relax and find peace, before the noise and chaos of daily life. It is where we stop for a moment, to then return to the noisy life of Saigon, but with our hearts and souls renewed and healed, even if only for a moment.

Whether you have knowledge of ceramic art or not, coming to Hien Concept, in a short time, you will discover a creative world of art. Here, you have the opportunity to create quality ceramic products, expressing your own personal style and art.

Pottery making experience at Hien Concept

When coming to Hien Concept, each participant will be provided with a basic set of tools such as: a set of clay, apron, towel, water basin, brush, cutter, turntable,… And before entering the practice stage, everyone will be guided in detail by Hien Concept staff on how to shape clay on the turntable, the technique of holding tools to create patterns for the product.

At Hien Concept, a variety of ceramic models are displayed for everyone to choose and follow. Some easy-to-make models that everyone can refer to are bowls, plates, cups, drinking glasses, etc. After completing the product, everyone can decorate the product with ceramic colors and send it back to Hien Concept for firing and glazing, which takes about 15 – 20 days.
