Experience multisensory science at Science Fair 2025

artLIVE – (Ho Chi Minh City) – On October 19, Science Fair 2025, a special event themed “Curious little minds today – Sustainable change tomorrow,” will officially take place at 257 Hoang Van Thu, Tan Son Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The event is free and open to the public, offering a space that combines science, education and art, designed for children, teenagers and all those who love science.

Science Fair 2025 – A fresh approach to science

Marking the 15th anniversary of the Science Film Festival, the Goethe-Institut Ho Chi Minh City, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Germany, together with its partners, presents Science Fair 2025 under the theme “Curious little minds today – Sustainable change tomorrow.”

The event aims to connect organizations working in education, innovation, and sustainable development, while creating an experiential space where science, education, and art intersect for children, teenagers and science enthusiasts alike.

The theme “Curious little minds today – Sustainable change tomorrow” introduces a refreshing way to approach science, beyond textbooks and laboratories. In addition to inspirational science films, participants can directly observe, experiment, and explore scientific phenomena closely tied to everyday life from flavors in cuisine and transformations of matter to how human senses respond to the surrounding world.

Through interactive, hands – on activities, participants can feel that science is not distant but present in every daily experience.

The Science Fair 2025 space is designed to integrate learning, play, and creativity, opening doors to science for all ages. Through a series of practical workshops, interactive games, live experiments, and inspirational talks, the event presents science in an engaging, understandable, and relatable way.

Science Fair 2025 focuses on three core goals:

  • To ignite a passion for science and promote creative and critical thinking through hands-on experiences.
  • To connect educational institutions, businesses, and communities, fostering innovation and sustainable development.
  • To build an open learning environment that encourages intergenerational exchange, experimentation, and continuous dialogue

With the spirit of learning and sharing, Science Fair 2025 is not only a science fair but also a journey of inspiration turning today’s curiosity into motivation for positive change in the future. The event raises awareness of environmental protection and renewable energy, while nurturing soft skills and critical thinking among young participants.

Alongside various learning experiences, visitors can join the “Science Journey” mini-game, embarking on an adventure of exploration from the moment they arrive and earning exciting prizes along the way.

A multisensory science experience

Science Fair 2025 features three main activity zones:

Indoor Activities

This area expands the perspective on green science and sustainability, inspiring environmental action through creative experiments and interactive art–science experiences.

Science in Arts includes activities such as painting with eggshells, creating STEM models like air rockets and balancing birds, making colorful artworks, engaging with AR–VR experiences, and playing the Climate Fresk board game that vividly simulates climate change.

Science on Screen introduces a series of free science films under the theme “Green Jobs”, portraying people dedicated to protecting the planet. Films such as UMI NO OYA (Mother of the Sea), Bubbles, and Forever Seven take viewers into the microscopic world of nature, revealing humanity’s impact on the environment.

Science in Actions offers an extensive reading area organized by the General Sciences Library of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with Tre Publishing House. Here, visitors can explore books about science, the environment, and green living, accompanied by science films and experiments that make knowledge more approachable and enjoyable.

Science in Dialogues features a series of talks and exhibitions bridging science and art, creating spaces for inspiration and creativity. Highlights include:

  • “From Field to Table” – exploring the path of sustainable agriculture.
  • “Urban Living: How Do We Thrive?” – examining the relationship between humans and urban environments.
  • “The Art of Science,” “Poc-tach,” and “Sprouting” – exploring dialogues between science and the arts.
  • “Plan Z: When Science Rebels” – sparking innovative thinking.
  • “Science & Technology in Future Careers” – guiding youth toward sustainable career choices.

Outdoor Activities

With dozens of booths combining hands-on science experiments and creative food experiences, this area takes participants on a multisensory journey of exploration.

1. Scientific Experiments and Practice
Participants can experience scientific principles firsthand through interactive experiments such as:

  • Casio presents two activities:
    • Calculator Scientist: helping children develop memory skills and familiarize themselves with calculator keyboards.
    • Probability and Statistics: a simulation experiment illustrating probability laws through a random number generator.
  • The Vagabond presents the Gel Sphere Experiment, where participants create spherical gel beads and observe instant solidification—a vivid demonstration of material transformation in nature.

2. Sensory and interactive activities
This area awakens the senses and fuels curiosity with activities such as:

  • Idocean invites participants to explore the world of scents through:
    • Sensory Matching: a coffee-scent guessing challenge.
    • Sensory Library: testing olfactory memory with five distinct aromas.
  • Pilot introduces Write – Erase – Rewrite, allowing participants to explore thermo-sensitive ink technology, and Pilot Race – Write it right to win, a fun and educational vocabulary game combining writing and movement.
  • Ly Gia Vien presents Gelato Stick Dip Chocolate, where chocolate instantly freezes upon contact with chilled gelato.

3. Books and green knowledge zone
At the same time, the Autumn Train Project launches the Green Careers Bookshelf, featuring 18 selected titles on ecological agriculture, renewable energy, and nature conservation, along with the Write a Letter to the Future activity to encourage awareness and love for the planet.

4. Creative food corner
The Creative Cuisine area offers a delightful culinary journey—from convenient yet fresh and nutritious noodle dishes to creamy pasta and flavorful grilled pork noodles—blending familiar and new tastes that inspire creativity through food.

Main stage activities

The main stage will host the opening ceremony of Science Fair 2025, promising an energetic atmosphere that spreads excitement and curiosity throughout the venue.

Following the ceremony, an interactive game under the theme “Green Jobs” will encourage creativity in connection with environmental protection. Participants can create 3D artworks using recycled materials, delivering a message of sustainable living and hope for a greener future.

Science Fair 2025 – Cultivating scientific creativity
