artLIVE – The cultural and art exhibition ‘Kiều Kiều Giai Nhân’ by the Da Nang Tui community will take place from August 23 to September 21, 2025, offering the public a chance to encounter the iconic character Kieu in a vibrant, multidimensional art space.
Stepping into a dreamlike realm where the beauty of Kiều lingers
Founded in 2017, Da Nang Tui is a young art community that has become a familiar hub for those who love creativity and culture. With a vision to refresh the artistic landscape of the coastal city, the group has organized four seasons of medium- and small-scale exhibitions, a creative practice podcast series for artists, and numerous workshops that connect the younger community.
‘Kiều Kiều Giai Nhân’ is a special occasion for the public to meet Kieu once again in a diverse artistic space. The exhibition is supported by the British Council Vietnam under the Connections Through Culture Fund 2025, sponsored by Samsung The Frame and Samsung Galaxy Tab, with venue support from Xi-Ne Bistro & Jazz. Continuing its mission to bring Vietnamese culture closer to the younger generation through art and creativity, the project invites audiences to reimagine Kieu in a new light.
The exhibition ‘Kiều Kiều Giai Nhân’, after months of preparation, is now ready to unveil a dreamlike realm filled with graceful feminine beauty. Inspired by the theme ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ of the 2025 Culture Connect Fund, ‘Kiều Kiều Giai Nhân’ tells the story of diversity and inclusion in Vietnamese society through the image of women.
Each verse of Truyen Kieu resonates like a whisper across generations; each image of Kieu not only recalls the Talent – Destiny – Heart of women from over 200 years ago but also reflects on their roles and identities in today’s world.
Art Director Duy Thuan shared: “For me, ‘Kiều Kiều Giai Nhân’ is a journey of transforming Nguyen Du’s classic words into visual experiences. Every space, every artwork is designed as a ‘doorway’ leading audiences into the world of Truyen Kieu. I hope that when leaving the exhibition, each visitor carries with them a personal image of Kieu, as we have embedded her presence into every detail, every stroke.”
An artistic journey that transforms Nguyen Du’s words into visual experiences
The exhibition highlights a unique blend of conceptual depth and creative expression. Showcasing more than 30 works across 20 art forms ranging from traditional to contemporary, it features installation art, augmented reality (AR), video games, kinetic sculptures, lenticular art, traditional painting, silk painting, and hybrid works combining technology with traditional crafts.
Visitors will also enjoy interactive experiences such as incense workshops, Go workshops, watercolor painting, Kieu fortune telling, Kieu recitals, woodblock printing, and more over 10 free activities designed to enrich engagement and add fresh colors to the cultural narrative.
According to Tran Viet Huy, the exhibition’s Technology Director, technology here is not only an aesthetic enhancement but also a gateway to new forms of interaction between audiences and art.
His team has experimented with lighting, sound, and multimedia effects to ensure that each step a visitor takes becomes part of the story. Through this integration, cultural legacies like Truyen Kieu are reimagined with a new face both familiar and deeply connected to the younger generation.
